WEPPON WHISKEY - NEW WHISKEY BRAND IS “CLEARLY” MAKING AN IMPACT

August 28, 2020 -  FOR RELEASE

New York, NY

Weppon Whiskey announced their Temper Distilled clear whiskey from Central New York, launched in December 2019, received a Silver Medal and a 92 rating at the New York International Spirits Competition held August 11 - 24 in New York, New York.

Weppon competed against some of the oldest names in the whiskey industry, with submissions ranging from 10 to 25 year old age statements, finished in a multitude of barrel options. “Our new whiskey stood out uniquely and is “clearly” defying the odds for how to make a smooth and full flavored whiskey with its proprietary method of Temper Distilling,” said Eric Paparo, Weppon’s CEO and Co-Founder.

Temper Distilling combines a traditional triple distillation process while introducing different mashbills during each successive run. This method allows the whiskey to be distilled at a higher alcohol proof level to remove the harsh impurities while retaining a full-flavored profile. This ultra-smooth finished whiskey does not rely on barrel aging and is bottled in its purest, crystal clear form, consistently and within days, not years.

The New York International Spirits Competition comprises of trade-only judging panelists featuring restaurateurs, sommeliers, retail spirits buyers, distributors and importers. This year’s competition received over 1,200 entrants from all over the world.
